Well I am back in Bali and I have landed in the middle of the annual three day festival here.
Things have been very hectic as I am now contemplating trying to set up a luxury villa marketing and management business. And that isn't going to be easy given the fact that the competition is massive and well established. However I have found a great potential partner and the ideas & ambition on both sides is very high. Matched with the fact that I think the vision that we have can be achieved - well you don't get very far in life if you don't try, that's one of the lessons that I have learnt.
So I am putting my working cap back on, after the indulgences of todays planned drinking session for the mid day of the festival, and then we'll see where it all takes me.
Since I have been back here I have met some more great people. Big D is still legendary and he is one of the most uniquely individual characters that I have ever met. A fully grown man boy is one way of describing him - a cross over of many American and western cultures and likes to chat, in fact I have never known anyone, ever, to talk as much and most of it is hilarious.
Another guy I met shapes a lot of surf boards for the best surf board manufacturers in the world. He's already suggested that he would shape one for me, so if I decide that I want to take up surf boarding and embark on a mid-life crisis, then I would be off to a good start at least lol.
Anyway, tomorrow is Nyipi I think it's pronounced. That is the day of contemplation and relative silence. Apparently all of the dark and evil spirits descend on Bali during the night and all electricity is turned off - I'm not even sure if we are allowed candle light. And tonight I am off to watch the parading of the Ogli or something, I shall post some photo's.
And yesterday we went to look at a few potential villas to manage.
OK I know you like to see some photo's, here's one from the beach bar which is part of the villas up on the cliff top that we may be able to manage.... I love this pic....
Right, I am getting kicked out of the Java Juice cafe..... Party time is drawing near.
